Kongkow2 Alumni CE

Hi! Just arrive from Jakarta yesterday. I was attending quite a lot of parties.. all related to that childhood friend of mine. First the event when the bride-groom brought a lot of female stuff on red trays and gave it to the bride. The bride will do the same thing but the red trays consist of male stuffs. In the evening of the same day, we had her grandma's 85th birthday party. The next day is the engagement itself. Sorry I was a bit wrong. It's not the wedding yet. They will have the wedding party at the bride-groom's hometown two weeks later.
Before I elaborate what I wore =P and what I did in Indonesia, I want to chronicle about my gathering last week with my CE friends. After around 90 emails (pake Gmail itungnya) we decided to have dinner at Breeks, Marina Square. Who are we?
From left to right. First is Oscar who is working at Scandent and now is at client-site, NUS. He's still the same guy with hi-tech gadgets (his camera and its remote control) hahaha. What makes it different is we don't chit chat as much as before. So I don't know what's going on with his personal life. But he looks happy. Hopefully he truly is =)
Next is Nicole. I'll never forget how big her contribution in saving my (in fact our) SC205 exam was. Without her neat and readable tutorials, I'm sure I won't be able to pass that subject. I still remember my class rep at that time, Du Gang (baca: tukang) just scan our tutor's horrible handwriting and send to us. Now she's in PWC, just come back from Indonesia for her brother's wedding. Hmmm hope hers will be soon =)
We move to Emka who saved me even more haha. He's super genius in everything related to IT. He's also very helpful. He broke his left hand when we were in 2nd year. Just few weeks before exam. Good for him the exam was postponed for 2 weeks due to SARS. And he's always very stable in getting his grades. Even when he had less time to study, he still got those very good results. He's now working at Avanade.
Then we have Made. In the past all of us used to study together at canteen 2 until midnight. And this guy is the one who often throw stupid yet refreshing jokes. He's smart and hardworking as well. Anyway I will be at the same company with him starting from next week. See you there =)
The last one is Fida who is the wackiest in our CE batch. She's now at JP Morgan. I can't believe now she wears skirt. Maybe it was her laundry day =P. She has the biggest eyes I've ever seen. And like what she said she always sit with the biggest man in class. So she can't see almost half of the LT because of that haha.
We had such a good time in updating each other about each of us and everyone else =P. It's so exciting to meet each other again after about one year never chit chat and see each other. Hopefully we'll have bigger reunion next time. Thank you friends for staying the same.

My Childhood Friend's Wedding
Posted by ver0n1c4 at 09:50 AM on June 7, 2006.
Finally it's her party! We knew the plan from around 2 years ago. Now their dream comes true =) Congratulations... Frankly speaking she is my sister's best friend. She's closer to my sister coz they used to be in the same class during high school.
So I came back on 1st June. Arrived at Soekarno-Hatta around 1.45pm Jakarta time, jumped into the car and arrived at my beloved room. One good thing about being at home was you didn't have to do anything haha... life was so good and spoiling =P I felt sleepy most of the time I was at home. For dinner we went to Plaza Indonesia and managed to find a beautiful blue dress for me to attend the party. I like that dress so much coz it's not so formal but still looks beautiful.
The wedding itself commenced on Saturday. In the morning we went for the holy matrimony at Kathedral. Pertama kalinya ke Kathedral... Bagush banget!!! Suasananya tenang banget. The choire was also very nice especially when they sang "Thy Word is the lamp unto my feet and the light unto my path" After that I took a rest at home for a while before getting ready for the reception at Borobudur Hotel.
Of course there's always time for taking picture hehehe. Not a very good quality pics. Only use my XDAII mini T_T
One thing I like when I attended this party, I can meet a lot of relatives there. It happened to be the bride's parents are close to my family. So it was a kind of reunion to me.
Finally the couple and their families walked into the room. They used the song "When You Looked at Me". And the bride looks extremely pretty and happy. So glad she could find her happiness =). Wish you have a happy family ever after.
Berikutnya gue bakal mengabadikan hari terakhir gue di Indo bersama temen TK gue. Pizzz...

My Kindergarten Friend

Firstly, yesterday I watched The Omen. Comment: Sangat2 tidak recommended. Cuman cerita kaget2an yang ga ada alurnya apalagi moral of the story. Sebenernya gue dah nonton ini film waktu gue kecil. Bahkan yang versi cewe pun gue tonton. Kalo yang cowo namanya Damien, yang cewe namanya Delia.
Berikutnya mau mengabadikan cerita sama temen TK gue pas di Indo. Setelah beberapa kali pulang dan ga sempet ketemu dia, akhirnya kita ketemuan juga hehehe... Entah kenapa ritual pulang Indo gue ga pernah berubah.
Pertama kita ke toko CD and menemukan kalo Bob and Clint Moffatts bikin album baru! Judulnya Same Same. Gue ampe ngakak pas liatnya... Soalnya dulu pas kita masih SMP, kita berempat (sama C'tine and Shinta) sampe ikut2an fans clubnya Moffatts!! TMIFC tepatnya The Moffatts Indonesia Fans Club. Pas liat ada Same Same kita sempet ribut masing2 nyuruh beli itu CD. Tapi ga ada yang rela hahaha...
Terus kita jalan ke Gramedia. Feli ngajak lewat bawah karena mau ngasi liat J-Co donat yang ramenya amit2 katanya. And emank bener antriannya sepanjang2 monyong. Kaya dulu pas Bread Talk baru buka di Jakarta. Kita putusin beli 6 donat dengan 6 rasa berbeda: coklat, berry, kacang, apel, terus lupa apa lagi. Sampe depan counter ternyata mesti nunggu lama banget! Akhirnya cuman dapet kacang dan apel. Sisanya ambil rasa yang ada aja. Donatnya sendiri benernya enak tapi biasa aja... Heran orang2 rela ngantri ampe segitunya...
Setelah liat2 di Gramedia, terus kita ke Tarra. Masih penasaran sama Same Same ceritanya >.< Tapi begitu masuk gue liat VCD Xena yang diobral murah banget... Akhirnya gue ambil semua yang ada Xena and melupakan Same Same karena budget sudah tidak mencukupi. Acara berlanjut dengan duduk2 di A&W sambil makan J-Co donat. Kita ngobrol2 soal temen2 dulu. Maklum gue satu sekolah sama dia dari TK ampe SMP. Jadi banyak temen2 yang sama hohoho.
Then pas jalan ke tempat parkir kita putusin mau foto2 dulu.

Yoda Backpack
Posted by ver0n1c4 at 04:50 AM on June 9, 2006.
This is cute!!!

Stay on target! Star Wars nerds can add one more scene of the original trilogy to their re-enactment list. Inside this Yoda backpack you can place your lightsaber, your MacBook, and a cellphone to call mom to pick you up when you're all done. If they'd only make a slave Leia full-sized plushie.

I shall never forget this day
Posted by ver0n1c4 at 03:47 PM on June 15, 2006.
I don't mean to be so dramatic =) but I'm just so touched on my last day in UTAC. Or I should say last week to be exact hehe. Analyst group treated me for lunch on Tuesday 5 June at Kuishin-bo. That's one of famous Japanese restaurants, located at Suntec City level 3. And I've never been there. It's famous because of its buffet. Yup free flow salmon sashimi ^.^ and the teppanyaki (esp beef) is super nice. I also got Royce chocolate from two of them which I claim to be the best chocolate. I'm not hiperbolic here coz I'm not a big fan of chocolate. So go to www.e-royce.com or go to Suntec City to buy yours hehehe.
On Friday, me and development team went to Spageddies, one of my favorite Italian restaurants at Paragon. I had spaghetti with chicken cooked with red wine and butter. Something like that =P I forgot the fancy name. Then they gave me $100 Metro voucher from the whole group. Plus a cute farewell card. I'm so touched and say thanks again and again. Well they have bought me lunch. They didn't have to buy any other thing for me actually. I think I don't want to spend the voucher T_T too precious..... But I like the card. What they wrote are so funny. They are indeed a bunch of fun people ^.^
In the office another colleagues gave me bracelet (CITYGEMS) and necklace (Bits and Pieces). Again they're so cute!!! The necklace with angel pendant is from my colleague who is placed at China now. Can't really say goodbye to her. Just say it through phone at last. And the bracelet is the kind of bracelet that I've always wanted in my mind! Just never really want to buy it. Thanks God they chose it. Just nice to me =)
I left the office around 4 o'clock after returning all the documents and office properties. Hope I could have a chance to work together with u guys again ^.^ Oh yeah I still haven't found out who that smiling guy is =P never mind sometimes it's better lo leave someone unknown.
THANKS!

Something funny to me
Posted by ver0n1c4 at 09:51 AM on June 17, 2006.
Gimana sih kalo ada temen lu nulis di blognya: ditusuk2 dr depan emank sakit!!! tobat anakku tobat!! Gile reflek aja gue angkat telpon. Oh no overseas.... must use international calling card.... press2 those buttons 893337493664#61401......# not enough credit *ouch* terpaksa bayar mahal.... huhuhu... and ternyata... ga penting ama sekaliii aiyohhhh ciciku yang satu itu -__- *lol*
Anyway these days are killing me... maybe not these days... that GSS is killing me!!! First Shu Uemura has this Boutique Birthday. I got $10 voucher to be used at Tangs and another $10 to be used at Takashimaya and another Taka $10 as a result of my friend who become members but use my address *this gal doesn't stay here*. So I went to Taka thinking that I can use $20 with minimum purchase of $50.
I reached there, saw here and there, decided to buy one product. And they didn't allow me!! Must buy 2 products above $50 to use 2 voucher... Geezzzz I just went away from there with my gold eyelash curler, a free gift as a result of answering one of the questions during the make up demo. Not bad... they say Madona use this limited edition eyelash curler hihihi...
Then GSS is really tempting. FYI ESPRIT has 3 days 20% discount storewide for all members. Ladies... douzou ^.^

Robosapien V2, now with flame thrower
Posted by ver0n1c4 at 04:10 AM on June 19, 2006.

It's nice to have a walking, talking robot with a gastro-intestinal disorder and all, but the one thing Robosapien V2 has always lacked is the ability to rage mayhem like his pet. No more! Some firestarter, twisted firestarter has hacked a "flame thrower" onto the unsuspecting bot who seems a tad perplexed by his new powers of destruction. No deets yet on how to apply the hack, but you can check the sneak peak video for the results. Hey Flameosapien, why not use your powers for good (like, say, plumbing) instead of acting on your nature to oppress our kind, hmm?

Anyone wanna buy this for me ^.^
Posted by ver0n1c4 at 04:15 AM on June 23, 2006.

The Nexxion Curve will no doubt draw comparisons to Apple's old iMac, given the striking resemblance. The Curve isn't a computer, though, but merely a TV that features an integrated DVD player. The 15" LCD has an decent contrast ratio of 500:1, but with combination players like this, style may take precedence over substance, as further indicated by the somewhat slow 12ms response time.
As with most DVD players, the Curve will also be able to play discs loaded with MP3s. While it probably won't output enough sound to make George Lucas happy, it may be acceptable for people in small apartments or kids in dorm rooms. It comes in the five colors seen here, but pricing and availability information are MIA. – Nicholas Deleon

LG's Cellphone Prevents Drunk Dialing
Posted by ver0n1c4 at 04:29 AM on June 29, 2006.

Just when we thought the LG Breathalyzer cellphone couldn't be more useless, they go an introduce this anti-drunk dialing feature. The phone can be set to block certain people in the book, say, your ex, your boss, and your pastor, from being dialed when the phone detects booze on your breath.
The LG LP4100 is going to be released later this year, and has already sold 200,000 phones in Korea. We're still waiting for them to add an anti-ugly-drunken-hookup mode. – Jason Chen
