SI for the 2nd time

Posted by ver0n1c4 at 11:45 AM on September 3, 2006.

It's been a tiring week. Or 2 tiring weekends to be exact. I didn't even have time to go online. Not to mention I have missed The Break Up huhuhu. Well I'll check gv.com after this to see if I still can watch it. Anyway last Wednesday I managed to watch Singapore Idol again. Spectacular Show this time!!! So I came to see them singing and of course scream loudly with the crowd!

Wahahaha I was so lucky to sit around Hadi Mirza's supporters. That time we still had 5 idols. And Paul was the worst. He said he was sick but he realized that should not be an excuse. Good good.... The best part was when I knew that Joakim was finally out! Haha actually he did improve that day. So I feel it's a bit strange if he's out so soon. Judging from the number of supporters and their age (mostly teenagers), I even predicted that he could be the winner. Anyway, he's out.... which is a good thing hehehe.

Last Friday, me and my friends did a test on the camera again and my icon is one of the results ^.^

Mazmur 63

Posted by ver0n1c4 at 11:28 AM on September 5, 2006.

Ya Allah, Engkaulah Allahku
Aku mencari Engkau
Jiwaku haus kepada-Mu
Tubuhku rindu kepada-Mu
Seperti tanah yang kering dan tandus
Tiada berair.

Demikianlah aku memandang
Kepada-Mu di tempat kudus
Sambil melihat kekuatan-Mu
dan kemuliaan-Mu

Sebab kasih setia-Mu
Lebih baik dari pada hidup
Bibirku akan memegahkan Engkau
Demikianlah aku mau
Memuji Engkau seumur hidupku
Dan menaikkan tanganku demi nama-Mu

This song is taken from Psalm 63. The lyrics is exactly the same with the version of Indonesian Bible. My first cell group leader taught us this song because we never really memorize the Bible verse. So she hoped we can memorize something through singing *haha*. Last time I don't really like this song. But as time goes by, this is the song I never bored to sing when I'm in low spirit, stressed, and even in happy time ^.^

SI Judges' Choice

Posted by ver0n1c4 at 04:14 PM on September 6, 2006.

Wow wow wow did you see that? I just watched SI Spectacular Show and for the first time I feel happy ^.^ They performed really well tonight. And this is a very good show. Two thumbs up for the 4 idols. FYI, now we only have 4 idols left. They are Hady Mirza, Jasmine Tye, Paul Twohill, and Jonathan Leong. Tonight they sang two songs from judges' choice. And like I said most of them nailed it!

Jasmine TyeI said before that my favorite is Hady Mirza, but now I'm getting more and more impressed by Jasmine Tye. I still remember I laughed at her when she sang "Wannabe" from Spice Girls. Or at night when she dressed like a princess. But ever since she sang "Sweet Child of Mine", I can say she's getting better and better. And tonight she gave the best performance for me.

Well I still like Hady. That's why I gave my S$1.20 for each of them *haha* so in total I sms-ed 4 times. 2 for Hady, the other 2 for Jasmine with a hope to keep them in competition. About Jonathan? Hmmm I think most of the judges are on his side so without my vote he would be able to make it. Moreover, I don't prefer him to win. Dunno why... personal preference =P. Mungkin karena dia bener2 mirip congpai *moga2 yg bersangkutan ga akan pernah baca ini >.<*

So for the winner, at this point of time I can't really choose between Hady and Jasmine. People say, we have Taufik, why should we have Hady? If a lot of people said that, then I really don't mind having Jasmine as our idol. But looking at the number of supporters when I was watching the show LIVE last week, I'm a bit worried Jasmine must go home. In that case I'll give my full support (i.e: 2 sms-es) to Hady. Until one of them is out, I will support both ^.^

By the way busway *jijik bgt sih ini gaya nulis... gue dapet dr salah satu tabloid Indo.... nulisnya aja geli hahaha* if any of you want to be Ikea member, they're having promotion. No need to buy up to S$300 to get the member card. S$30 will do. Not bad right?

Sleeping

Posted by ver0n1c4 at 04:38 PM on September 9, 2006.

These two days I've been sleeping a lot. I went back from office around 6pm yesterday. And went to bed straight away without getting dinner. All I knew my mum was calling around 10pm and I answered her on the phone unconsciously. I woke up around 7am to find myself a little bit hungry. Then I continued sleeping until around 9am. Called Sharon to confirm that our appointment was cancelled and slept again. Huahahaha been a long time since I enjoy the sleeping so much. Now it's only 10.45pm but I start yawning again ^.^

Anyway today I managed to go to nearest POSB to apply "Everyday" card. They said it would take 1-2 months to get the card ready =S is that normal? One thing to comment, I don't like POSB service. They're not friendly. Huh! I almost got myself a UOB card as well. Luckily I can still control myself not to get too many credit card =P

Let the Music Heal Your Soul

Currently I can't stop laughing... typing these words while listening to some Acapella music sent by a junior. He used to sing Acapella with a group of friends. What can I say? It's not bad at all! Haha thanks!

BK on Passive Income

Posted by ver0n1c4 at 05:56 PM on September 12, 2006.

Saw Arief's blog and found this interesting article by Billy Kristanto. I tried to translate some part of it. Hmm try my best... Pardon me if u find it not very good =P

In my opinion, the problem about passive income is not about whether we are really working hard or doing nothing (which is linked to Paul’s saying: “If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat" ). Rather, why we are so jaded with what we call "vocation". If we already earned Passive Income, then we can use our time for more meaningful things including serving Him more. If that's the case, that means we don't see our work as serving God. We see it as a punishment which we can't avoid since the world has fallen into sin.

If we think that our job is just a waste of time and not related with The Lord's work, then maybe He didn't place us there in the first place or maybe He has more specific calling for us. But if He did not, shouldn't we experience meaning of life while we are working? And it is this meaning of life which gives us more enjoyment than that of getting our pay check. We could find 'meaning' in the job we are doing since our job is a part of His calling and His plan.

Again, sadly, many of us, including those who undoubtedly loves Him very much, cannot find our calling in our working place. Then it's normal if passive income is getting more and more interesting. This doesn't always mean we are lazy, don't want to work, "lovers of money" etc. Yet, it is more to not being able to find His calling in our working place.

We are called to do His will in all aspects in our life, including our work/business. This sentence does sound like a cliche and seems to have no meaning. But actually this is the only thing that will lead us to live abundantly in its true meaning, as what was promised by Jesus. All of us are responsible to explore, discover, and develop every talent He lends us and cultivate them in such of way to bear fruit fittingly for the Kingdom of God.

-thanks to Om Fredo who voluntarily helped me translate the article. Great! As usual you're the most reliable one haha-

Valentine

Posted by ver0n1c4 at 04:48 PM on September 13, 2006.

If there were no words
No way to speak
I would still hear you
If there were no tears
No way to feel inside
I'd still feel for you

And even if the sun refused to shine
Even if romance ran out of rhyme
You would still have my heart
Until the end of time
You're all I need, my love, my Valentine

All of my life
I have been waiting for
All you give to me
You've opened my eyes
And shown me how to love unselfishly

I've dreamed of this
a thousand times before
In my dreams
I couldn't love you more
I will give you my heart
Until the end of time
You're all I need, my love, my Valentine

And even if the sun refused to shine
Even if romance ran out of rhyme
You would still have my heart
Until the end of time
'Cause all I need is you, my Valentine
You're all I need, my love, my Valentine

Dinner at Ichiban

Posted by ver0n1c4 at 05:24 PM on September 14, 2006.

I just came back from dinner with my ex-colleagues, Josephine and Albert. I used to work closely with Josephine. We used to communicate through email and I still remember my heart will beat faster everytime I received email from her. Why? Cause it means more job to do hehehehe. Anyway I enjoyed working with her since she's the most professional among her team. Everytime I got new requirement from her, I knew I could feel less worried since I can trust her.

So we arranged the dinner few weeks ago. And I'm excited to see them. It's been a while since we update each other. We met at Wisma Atria around 7pm and headed to Ichiban Sushi for dinner. We chatted a lot and I found out that the situation has been very very different. Man, it's only 3 months and things do change. We also talked about the past (1 year ago) when the IT team was dominated by Indonesian =) Now the number of Indonesian there has been decreasing a lot. Well life goes on.

Anyway we enjoyed the dinner and it took us quite some time to go out from the restaurant even though we have finished our food and dessert. Reached home I received one email from a friend. I'm very surprised to read this email. However I'm really grateful for this email. At this point of time, honestly, I can't write similar email. Well maybe next time.... When the time has come for me =) Now I'm going to sleep very soon. I think I catch a cold >.<

Psalm 26:9

Posted by ver0n1c4 at 02:53 AM on September 21, 2006.

"Gather not my soul with sinners."
--Psalm 26:9

Fear made David pray thus, for something whispered, "Perhaps, after all, thou mayst be gathered with the wicked." That fear, although marred by unbelief, springs, in the main, from holy anxiety, arising from the recollection of past sin. Even the pardoned man will enquire, "What if at the end my sins should be remembered, and I should be left out of the catalogue of the saved?" He recollects his present unfruitfulness--so little grace, so little love, so little holiness, and looking forward to the future, he considers his weakness and the many temptations which beset him, and he fears that he may fall, and become a prey to the enemy. A sense of sin and present evil, and his prevailing corruptions, compel him to pray, in fear and trembling, "Gather not my soul with sinners." Reader, if you have prayed this prayer, and if your character be rightly described in the Psalm from which it is taken, you need not be afraid that you shall be gathered with sinners. Have you the two virtues which David had--the outward walking in integrity, and the inward trusting in the Lord? Are you resting upon Christ's sacrifice, and can you compass the altar of God with humble hope? If so, rest assured, with the wicked you never shall be gathered, for that calamity is impossible. The gathering at the judgment is like to like. "Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn." If, then, thou art like God's people, thou shalt be with God's people. You cannot be gathered with the wicked, for you are too dearly bought. Redeemed by the blood of Christ, you are His for ever, and where He is, there must His people be. You are loved too much to be cast away with reprobates. Shall one dear to Christ perish? Impossible! Hell cannot hold thee! Heaven claims thee! Trust in thy Surety and fear not!

you give me wings when i'm falling

Posted by ver0n1c4 at 04:07 PM on September 25, 2006.

huahauhauha at last that HADY wins the competition!!! right before the lines are closed i sent 1 sms for Hady hehehe...

Overall the show is not so good. They started with top 10 idols sang one by one. Norman and Gayle sounded off. The others were okay. Some other good performance are by Tanya Chua and Taufik =). Then Gurmit announced that Hady is our new Singapore Idol. Too fast! No time to even feel a bit of tension.

Anyway it's good to have Hady as the winner. If Jonathan wins that means we could expect an album full of rock song plus "You Give Me Wings" which really really doesn't suit his voice =P

Hmmmmm.... no more idols show... Any idea on how to occupy my Wednesdays and Thursdays? ^.^
