short week

Posted by ver0n1c4 at 07:02 AM on November 5, 2007.

this is a short week ^.^ and my outlook calendar is full... lalala

after a long delay, I finally started to watch Desperate Housewives yesterday.. Only finished 2 episodes anyway... That's really a brilliant idea from Marc Cherry to add a new desperate housewive in the series. Katherine is mysterious and she's challenging Bree Hodge (yah not Van Der Kamp anymore). Susan is pregnant. Gaby is having affair (again). And Lynette is fighting cancer. I don't know why Susan always seems so lucky as compared to other desperate housewives.

Alright... time to catch up with Desperate Housewives, Heroes, and Grey's Anatomy too.....

Visa Application

Posted by ver0n1c4 at 07:42 AM on November 12, 2007.

Next holiday I will be going to Korea with my family. Since I'm holding Indonesian passport, I need to apply visa. So I went to the travel agent last Friday, coz Friday is my company holiday hohoho. But apparently I forgot (in fact I didn't know that I have to) to transfer my re-entry permit from my old passport to the new one. Fine.

I didn't want to go to ICA on Saturday. I chose to sleep longer. So this morning I went there and met Sharon, my childhood friend. She was there to submit the medical check up for her PR application. Well, she looks ehm formal haha compared to my polo-tee and jeans attire =P. So we joined the super long queue. Luckily I realized that for the transfer of re-entry permit, I don't need to queue to get the queue number. I can get the number from one of the machines there.

I was happy coz that means I can quickly go to the travel agent and reach office earlier. I arrived at this X Travel Agent at 8.55am. I told the receptionist that I'm meeting this lady Y to give my passport. She asked me to wait for a while and when she came back to me, she said, "Y will only start working at 9am. Just pass the thing to me and I will pass to her." Excellent.... I don't know how stressful people can be when they work at service industry. Maybe they are so stressed so that 5 minutes matters a lot to them, is it? Or maybe errrrr..... Never mind. So I waited there coz I wanted to give her my latest statement account as well.

Then at 9am, she started working and I gave her whatever things she wanted me to give. From there I walked to McD nearby and had a breakfast. 10 mins later Y called me and said, "I forgot to collect your IC leh... how ah... You need to give me your original IC" No sorry, no please, nothing... Anyway I was still in a good mood so I walked back to give her my IC.

So, why am I blogging now? Because she just called me and told me that the company letter needs to include my salary as well. Goodness... when I asked her what the requirements are, she never stated this. When I was in front of her, she said the company letter was sufficient. Now I need to inform my HR and walked back to that travel again sometime this week. Aiyooooo....

Never mind my HR has just replied my email. He will help me providing the letter, which is a GOOD news ^__________^

The Name Blame (From Yahoo today)

Posted by ver0n1c4 at 03:39 AM on November 17, 2007.

People unconsciously make life choices that resemble their names or initials, according to research on the "name-letter effect." For example:

• Tom is more likely to buy a Toyota, live in Toronto and marry Tonya.

• Dennis, Denise and Dena are particularly likely to be dentists.

• Sue Johnson is more likely to marry Tim Jones than Brad Griffin.

• A woman named Georgia is more likely to live in the state of Georgia

Students whose names begin with C or D get lower grades than those whose names begin with A or B; major league baseball players whose first or last names began with K (the strikeout-signifying letter) are significantly more likely to strike out, according to the report published in the December issue of Psychological Science.

~~~ This is like a guide to name your kids =P ~~~
gathering
Posted by ver0n1c4 at 04:14 AM on November 19, 2007.
I always love gathering. meeting old friends, chit chat, and having a good laugh. I realized that lately I have a lot of gathering.... more often than usual... ok maybe not all are gathering... some of them are retreats and seminars...
Anyway, when I checked my calendars this morning, I realized from this week onwards, my calendar will be less "hectic". Hehehe it's ok I'm happy enough with our previous gathering.... almost one week straight of seminar, a not-so-relaxing retreat during Deepavali =P, lunch and dinner gathering on weekends, the silliest hospital visit (hahaha), and so on and on and on.
Now that I have more free time, maybe I can start reading books *halah*
How Great Thou Art
Posted by ver0n1c4 at 04:35 PM on November 21, 2007.
Sonny James - How Great Thou Art Lyrics
Oh Lord my God when I in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made
I see the stars I hear the rolling thunder
Thy art throughout the universe displayed
Then sings my soul my Saviour God to Thee
How great Thou art how great Thou art
Then sings my soul...
[ choir ]
When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation
And calls me home what joy shall fill my heart
Then I shall bow in humble adoration
And there proclaim my God how great Thou art
Then sings my soul...
How great Thou art how great Thou art
Power of Remembering
Posted by ver0n1c4 at 04:19 AM on November 24, 2007.
Luke 22:14-20
14When the hour came, Jesus and his apostles reclined at the table. 15And he said to them, "I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. 16For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God."
17After taking the cup, he gave thanks and said, "Take this and divide it among you. 18For I tell you I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes."
19And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me."
20In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
=================================================
When Jesus said to His 12 main guys "Do this in remembrance of me," He wasn't talking about remembering all the good times they'd had in Galilee. It was about refusing to forget the price He would pay for their freedom -- freedom from sin's chokehold on their hearts. Jesus wanted them -- and us -- to understand that the cross is a strategically important event to remember.
You'd think we'd remember the cross. But set against other issues in our lives, the thought of the cross is easily lost. I don't know why it's so easy to forget about Jesus and his love for us at the cross. I just know that when we do so, important attitudes like gratitude and grace get buried under the demands of the "life should be all about me" routine. Actions like agape love for others, forgiveness, concern for the hopeless seem way too costly and inconvenient when thoughts of the cross escape our mental attention.
It's time for us to make it daily. Keep Jesus and His crucifixion on our minds. No matter what happens, it's good to go with God, because Christ's sacrifice gives us a great advantage. Next time you're tempted to blow things out of proportion, pause and have your own communion service. Thank Him for His body broken for you, praise Him for His blood shed for your sin. And then live the rest of your day rejoicing in remembrance of Him.
Don't forget to remember the cross today!
So Close
Posted by ver0n1c4 at 06:38 PM on November 27, 2007.
(feat. Jon McLaughlin)
You're in my arms
And all the world is gone
The music playing on
For only two
So close togehter
And when I'm with you
So close to feeling alive
A life goes by
Romantic dreams must die
So I bid mine goodbye
And never knew
So close was waiting
Waiting here with you
And now, forever, I know
All that I want is to hold you
So close
So close to reaching
That famous happy end
Almost believing
This one's not pretend
Now you're beside me
And look how far we've come
So far
We are
So close...
Oh, how could I face the faceless days
If I should lose you now?
We're so close to reaching
That famous happy end
Almost believing
This one's not pretend
Let's go on dreaming
Though we know we are
So close
So close, and still
So far...
